Health Careers

The Pre-Nursing/Healthcare Specialist course is a two year pathway and this course is hosted at Knox High School and Plymouth High School. Potential careers after completing this pathway include nurse, nurse practitioner, certified nursing assistant, physician, healthcare worker, medical technician, community health worker and many more!
The pre-nursing/healthcare specialist pathway prepares students for a state certification which can lead to a career in nursing. This course covers medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, health and safety, healthy lifestyle, wellness and disease prevention. Students will experience classroom simulations and on the job learning.
Building Trades

Construction Trades prepares students for a variety of careers pathways in learning the skills to continue in the construction trades field. Students will learn terminology, basic safety, use of hand and power tools, laying out and constructing floors, walls and ceiling joists and roof framing of a residential home. Students will also learn about exterior finishing, drywall installation, window, door, floor trim and cabinet installation.
Completion of the 2nd year of this program may allow a student to earn the Carpentry Level 1 Apprentice Certification through the IKORCC.
Fire/Rescue and EMT

CCMA

The CCMA Pathway leads students to the National Healthcareer Association examination which they take at the end of their senior year. Passing this examination sets them up for their Nursing career after finishing high school requirements.
Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice will give students an overview of the three primary elements of the criminal justice system: law enforcement, courts and corrections.
Student opportunities to use skills to reconstruct crash scenes and will participate in criminal investigation simulations to learn scientific knowledge related to anatomy, biology and chemistry. Training will be similar to that provided by officially designated law enforcement agencies.
Students can also earn Ivy Tech dual credit through this 2 year program.
Ivy Tech Community College provides the opportunity for students to earn up to 15 CRIM dual credits, including:

130 Intro to Corrections
The Fire and Rescue and Emergency Medical Services course is a 2 year pathway and this course is hosted at the Plymouth Fire Station. Potential careers after completing this pathway include emergency medical technician, paramedic, emergency management director, medical assistant, ambulance driver, nurse, police, fire or ambulance dispatcher and many more!
